The PT Resident II will function under the supervision of the program faculty and program director. Patient management will be specific to the age and diagnosis of the patient. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have completed a minimum of two years of experience in PT. Must demonstrate prior postgraduate course work in neurological PT or other relevant educational background. Demonstrated high levels of customer satisfaction. Must be flexible. Ability to work in and support a Labor- Management Partnership environment is required. Graduate of an accredited PT program. Licensed to practice PT in the State of California . Evidence of active participation in continuing education strongly preferred. Experience in the clinic setting strongly preferred. Must be service oriented and demonstrate caring and professional behaviors to reflect a high degree of courtesy and respect to members, patients and fellow employees. SKILLS TESTING: N/A DUTIES: The PT Resident II is able to achieve all of the competencies identified for the PT Resident I, but is able to apply his/her skills to the complex patient. Upon request for a physical therapy consult from a primary medical practitioner, the Physical Therapy Resident I do the following taking into consideration the patient's age: Evaluates patients by: Obtaining pertinent past history. Obtaining detailed account of presenting complaints. Interprets evaluation findings to determine the nature and extent of dysfunction. For those patients not appropriate to physical therapy management, communicates evaluation findings and/or makes recommendations to primary medical practitioner regarding patient disposition. For those patients appropriate to physical therapy management, identifies problems through integration of evaluation findings.
