Job Description:
Our client is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Director of Transportation Planning is the firm’s Florida Region. The position is located in the firm’s Orlando Office.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self starter capable of leading and building a multi-dimensional team of transportation engineering and planning professionals and expanding the firm’s Florida practice. Candidates should have experience managing and directing multi-disciplined teams in the preparation of a broad range of transportation planning and design projects in both the public and private sectors including PD&E studies, corridor studies, comprehensive plan development / updates, major investment studies, alternatives analyses, environmental impact statements, Developments of Regional Impact (DRI’s), concurrency /growth management and public involvement activities. Successful candidates must exhibit a thorough understanding of transportation planning and engineering concepts and skills and must demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills in cooperative problem solving with stakeholders, consultants, applicants and coworkers. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated track record of generating new business development opportunities and preparing winning proposals
Candidates must possess at least a B.S. in Civil Engineering or a B.A. in Transportation Planning with at least ten years experience in the private/public sector transportation field and a Florida PE or AICP certification.
