Job Description:


The position reports directly to the Development Controller in San Francisco and will also report indirectly to the related developments teams handling the assigned projects. Major Responsibilities § Ensure that all project related invoices and funding requests are processed on a timely and accurate basis. Ensure all project cash is properly accounted for. § Take responsibility for all items recorded to the general ledger for all assigned projects. § Prepare monthly accounting packages for Development Reporting Manager and Development Controller review. Accounting packages include balance sheets and income statements, bank reconciliations and appropriate accruals. § Record acquisitions, stabilizations, and dispositions in accordance with AMB guidelines. § Develop ongoing positive relationships with members of development teams. Ensure development team members are provided with data to support project management and proper controls. § Read and understand project related partnership and development agreements. Calculate management fees and partner and/or developer profit participation arrangements. § Conduct forecast meetings with development teams to gather all data necessary for quarterly re-forecasting. § Update quarterly forecast reports in MRI, FUEL and/or Argus in accordance with forecasting timelines. Explain all material variances to plan and prior period forecasts. § Calculate and record quarterly capitalized interest and G&A costs in accordance with GAAP and AMB guidelines. Education/Experience § B.A in Accounting or Economics with an accounting emphasis, CPA preferred. § Minimum of three years accounting experience or relevant work experience. § Real estate development accounting experience preferred. § MRI experience desired.
