Job Description:
The Mental Health Specialist II is part of the Specialty Provider Team. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Specialty Provider Team Administrator.s for the provision of mental health support services to at-risk infants/toddlers, young children and their families Develops Quality Assurance protocols to use in the delivery of mental health support services Provides leadership to and facilitates meetings of the mental health pod Participates in FSS supervisory pod, works in close communication with FSS supervisors Provides training and technical assistance to staff and contractors Provides and receives training to/from the FSS multi-disciplinary team to ensure best practices are incorporated into program plans Promotes interdisciplinary coordination of services, and ensures the delivery of high quality services Consults with and provides technical assistance to other ECC staff and ECC contractors to promote interdisciplinary integration of mental health support services Networks with outside agencies providing mental health services to develop connections and facilitate coordination of ECC services with other community-based services Provides direct services to identified families as follows: Evaluates the needs of infants/toddlers, young children, parents and family members for mental health support services, based on direct interview and interaction with the family and/or discussion with other providers who interact with the family Provides infant and early childhood support services as needed on a crisis, or brief treatment basis, in the home, center, clinic, childcare or other settings as appropriate Develops, implements and evaluates plans for the provision of mental health support services jointly with the family and other staff members as appropriate.
