Construction Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer – (Heavy Civil Construction Projects)

Current Project Locations: Sacramento, Lodi, & Roseville – California

Compensation: $50,000 to $75,000 per year DOE + employee benefits and bonuses

Large international Heavy Civil Engineering, General Contracting, & Construction Management Design-Build firm actively seeks mid to senior level Construction Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer for Sacramento area office. This Construction Estimator will be assigned to our heavy civil construction projects such as water/ wastewater treatment facility, pump station, and water treatment plant projects.

Construction Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer must have a minimum of two years of construction scheduling experience and proficient working knowledge and experience with Primavera (P3). Construction Scheduler with large scale construction project experience of $100M plus are preferred but not required. Must be detail oriented and a strong analytical thinker.

This Construction Scheduler / Scheduling Engineer job responsibilities and duties will include but are not limited to:

* Develops, manages, and/or executes all phases of either the construction cost control effort or the construction planning/scheduling effort for one or more of the large, most complex and demanding projects.

* Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex construction project control problems. Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.

* Provides construction project and company management with the necessary tools for project cost control. May participate in the development of the work breakdown structure, interfacing with all affected departments.

* Key member of team qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast construction project costs and performance. Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel. Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.

* Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future construction planning and forecasting.

* Will be key member of staff qualified to analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report construction schedule status against an established baseline. Assesses the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages. Develops or maintains an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed.

* Customizes project construction control systems to meet specific project requirements.

* May function as Project Control Manager on a project. In that capacity, directs and controls all of the project controls activities.


PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience) and 2+ years of experience in a lower-level Construction Schedule/ Scheduling Engineer, or Construction Project Controls position is required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. Proficient PC skills including a proficiency in various software used in the Project Controls Department, such as Excel, Primavera, and Document and/or Materials Controls System (DMCS). Familiarity with construction industry practices is required.
