Chicago Scheduled Days: Rotation Shift Begins and Ends: Varies Job Description: Operating Room Specialty Manager is a highly skilled professional practitioner with demonstrated advanced knowledge of Operating Room Nursing. The Operating Room Specialist functions in all roles of manager, researcher and consultant for muliiple specialties. Responsible for the justification and utilization of all resources needed for patient care delivery. Sets standards for the OR and works with the OR staff and surgical service to ensure that these standards are met for each surgical specialty. Functions as the liaison between the Surgical Service, OR staff, ICU, general nursing units and the ancillary departments to ensure continuity of surgical patient care. Education: Diploma or AD required; BSN preferred. CNOR preferred. Licensure : Current RN Illinois license. Current certification in CPR. Experience: Minimum requirement of five years of clinical practice in the operating room and preferably two years experience in management and two years experience in service specific fields.
