Job Description:
The Sara Lee community consists of 52,000 employees worldwide. Position Summary: The senior manager will assist in designing, implementation, and compliance with Sara Lee food safety requirements for our Suppliers and Copackers. Provides technical support to suppliers and Copackers on food safety issue resolution and corrective actions. Works with supply chain, R&D, and other internal customers to assure compliance with food safety requirements of suppliers. Technically interprets third party audit and SLC food safety audit and approval system for Suppliers and Copackers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, implement, manage and audit SLC food safety requirements for Suppliers and Copackers. Develop and implement technical plans, clearly defining the critical issues and approach to be used in resolving food safety issues. Follow up with Suppliers and Copackers to assure compliance to resolution. Develop and manage food safety auditing system using SLC and third party auditors. Manage Supplier/CoPacker food safety approval process for consistency across all lines of business. Determine approval status for Copackers and Suppliers, based on requirements of the SLC food safety approval policies and processes. Design, implement, and manage programs, databases, and/or policies to track and determine a preferred supplier program based on performance and management of risks. Work with R&D and Supply Chain on key food safety requirements for suppliers and Copackers. Define food safety testing requirements and compliance guidelines for Suppliers and Copackers. Develop and present persuasive presentations to senior management on recommendations. Integrate with Procurement and the RFP process with the selection of potential suppliers and Copackers Provide food safety expertise to the Innovation project teams and determine food safety requirements and recommendations.
