The following opportunity exists in our South San Francisco, CA, headquarters: Senior Manager, Clinical Science Specialists Responsibilities: Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic, operational and people plans for the Clinical Scientist Specialist organization including long-range planning for the next 5-10 years to meet scalability and productivity goals Accountable for coaching and developing Clinical Science Specialist, and possibly other Clinical Science Specialist Managers, by providing an environment that encourages ongoing personal and professional development Expected to further develop appropriate management depth and succession candidates, including their own successor Responsible for resource planning, recruitment, interviewing and hiring for the Clinical Science Specialist group Ensure timely and optimal allocation of staff to all priority projects Regularly communicate with management on resource requirements and staff performance including partnering with specific Medical Directors to ensure appropriate resource allocation Manage the performance of Clinical Science Specialists and possibly other Clinical Science Specialist Managers (including goal setting, performance management and appropriate development plans) Responsible for successful planning and deployment of relevant staff to project and non-project related tasks.
