Job Description:
Billing/Collections Manager Description: Responsible for management of the billing, cash apps and collections to ensure that all three areas are accurate, complete, and processed within timely filing limits. Requirements: Business degree, healthcare or management experience. Minimum 5-years experience in health care, billing, collections. Knowledge of third-party, government programs, strong organizational skills, problem solving, and time management skills. Essential Functions: Manage all billing services in accordance with state/federal regulations; compliant with plan of care/treatment; and consistent with professional practice. Manage the accumulation and verification of all necessary documentation required for billing. Oversee the timely resolution of all claims including appeals. Provide direction on escalated problem accounts and claims. Communicates with agency personnel on incorrect payor data that is identified Verify billing frequency, required forms, and general billing requirements Supervise and follow-up on accounts for billing and on overdue accounts for collections via phone calls, re-submissions and adjustments for billing errors. Answer questions from billers / collectors regarding process, coding, and systems; act a resource to team. Provide functional related feedback to team. Consult with offices regarding billing and collection problems. Set up service codes, insurance payors, and rates in McKesson. Identify and notify controller regarding billing, collection, and personnel issues. Make adjustments, rate changes, as approved/directed by payor source/office /contracts.
