Job Description:
The Command is responsible for the operational planning, coordination, scheduling and execution of resources used in the distribution and transportation of weapons, weapons components, SNM material, and other special operations as required by OST. The Federal Agent Commands are geographically separated from the OST Headquarters, which creates burdens in communications and support. The incumbent provides program oversight and supervises Command Training Specialists at the Pay Band 02 levels (GS-11/12), and Pay Band 03 level (GS-13). Incumbent serves as the Command education specialist and technical advisor on all matters relevant to employee training, firearms qualifications, driving certifications, physical fitness, firing range activities, and special equipment. The OST mission requires Federal Agents to be highly proficient and thoroughly trained to prevent the theft, sabotage, or control by unauthorized persons of materials entrusted to OST. The effectiveness of these agents has a direct effect on the United States' nuclear program and the national security. Note: This position is designated as a secondary position and experience as a Nuclear Materials Courier is required.
