Job Description:
Position Overview: Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development the Director, Business Development will play a key role on the company's worldwide Commercial Team. The primary aspects of the role involve identifying customers for co-development collaborations that utilize our client's proprietary technologies and pursuing and closing transactions. The Director, Business Development works within the US group on outreach activities, and negotiating and closing technology and product out-licensing transactions. Responsibilities: · Identify target customers where our client's technical capabilities and drug delivery technologies represent a fit. · Develop plans to penetrate target customers and work to implement these plans through high-level business development activities, including meeting with potential partners and making capabilities presentations. · Responsible for the identification, analysis, pursuit and negotiation of collaborations, licenses, and strategic alliances leveraging our client's drug delivery technologies. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a graduate education in a life sciences discipline; formal business training such as an MBA; and five+ years of successful business development experience in an entrepreneurial environment within the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry with a corresponding network of contacts and an established deal sheet.
