We are looking for a software manager to join our Informatics Department to manage a group of 5-7 developers and test engineers who must work closely with users to understand requirements, design solutions, and implement applications. Software projects vary from efforts to applications following the formal software development life cycle. The applications often wrap complex data into a user friendly package and/or streamline the users workflow process. Position Requirements: - BS or MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent - 5+ years software development experience - 3+ years management experience - Excellent verbal and written communication - Strong organizational and analytical skills Experience: - Experience with software architecture and design - Experience with the software development lifecycle - Experience with high performance programming and high throughput large volume data sets - Experience with automated testing - Experience with requirements gathering from the end user - Experience with streamlining process workflows - Familiarity with statistics or molecular biology concepts
