Job Description:
Media responsibilities include preparation and autoclaving of a variety of liquid and solid media. Individual will also be responsible for collection, processing and re-distribution of laboratory glassware throughout the site. In this capacity, the successful candidate will operate glassware washer, dryer and autoclaves. In addition to media preparation responsibilities, this individual will provide stocks of research consumables such as 96-well plates filled with media or glycerol and assist in the preparation of competent cells. Routine data entry using Microsoft Access and retrieval of information from databases will be required. Individual must prioritize daily workload, interface with various teams and individuals throughout the site and troubleshoot/provide creative solutions to issues faced by the team with respect to process changes. Individual will also provide occasional backup for general site operational activities such as shipping and receiving, stock room maintenance, and conference room setup. Required Skills: Qualifications/Competencies: An associate degree or similar certification in a field of relevant laboratory sciences and one year of lab experience (involving sterile technique) are required.
