Job Description: Tax Manager Salary $110K-$150K with full benefits
The Tax Manager's role is to manage all functions of the corporate tax department and provide guidance for long term planning. The position is responsible for daily department operations including supervision of returns & filings, audits, review of workpapers, provisions, G/L, and analysis of special projects. Within the above areas of responsibility, ensure financial reporting and SOX compliance requirements are met.
Responsibilities: -Review of sales/use, property, and income tax returns (Federal, State and Local) -Review of gross receipts, annual reports, licenses & other filings -Assist with the preparation of FAS 109 & FIN 48 work papers and documentation -Review SEC filings -Supervise sales, property, income, and payroll tax audits -Maintain tax calendars -Excellent written & oral communication skills -Experience interacting with taxing authorities, consultants, senior management, legal and other departments at all levels within the company, vendors & customers -Maintenance, training and updating of computerized tax programs -Preparation and review of journal entries, monthly tax provision, and account analysis, including reports and closings -Sign all checks and tax returns filed related to the tax department -File Maintenance of tax workpapers -Updating of tax procedural manuals -Must comply with SOX, departmental and corporate internal controls and processes -Must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity -Other duties and responsibilities as required
Job Requirements: Requirements: -Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required -Master's in Taxation a plus (MST) or LLM -Professional designation, CPA preferred -5 - 10 years corporate tax experience -Knowledge of GAAP and SOX with respect to specific responsibilities -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Proven track record managing and developing personnel -Must have proven decision making skills -Broad tax experience preferred in both public and corporate accounting -Knowledge of FastTax and Microsoft software applications For confidential interview, please contact: Andrew Dodds President/CEO Superior Business Staffing, Inc. 312-224-9826 adodds@sbstaffing.com www.sbstaffing.com
