Job Description:
Responsibilities: Direct and manage a staff of two, liaise and work closely with the communications team and research scholars to agree and manage production and deadlines, oversee editorial content, design and apply modern marketing and sales techniques, including leading on the organization of occasional external events, to traditional research. Reporting to: The Vice President for Communications. Requirements: 7-9 years of experience in marketing and publishing. Experience coordinating the entire publishing process from strategic planning to project management and implementation, including peer review. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Solid foundation in marketing and knowledge of marketing tools and new media. Familiarity with graphic design software. Ability to communicate effectively with in-house authors. Experience developing relationships and negotiating with vendors. Ability to lead diverse team of direct-reports, outside staff, and freelancers. Budget experience, and an interest in international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. An EOE.
