The Transportation Manager is responsible for directing and supervising the operation of Shipping, Receiving, and the Warehouse departments. Candidates responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: Maintain departmental budget Meet annually with freight carriers for new contracts that will result in quality shipments at a reasonable price. Direct and coordinate daily activities of employees to ensure that orders are shipped in the most efficient manner. Communicate with Sales department and Manufacturing department any pertinent issues. Rate and approve freight invoices Responsible for setting departmental goals and implementing improvements.
