Job Description: POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Engineer is responsible for coordinating and tracking compliance activities for the NERC and regional (SERC and RFC) reliability standards for all areas of the company including transmission, generation and information technology. Key responsibilities include:
- Review processes, procedures, and documentation developed by Ameren Registered Entities (Planning, Operation, Generation, System Protection, and Marketing groups) to identify gaps and provide guidance so that they meet or exceed requirements of all the NERC and FERC approved standards. - Assist in developing policies and procedures for enhancing internal compliance program. - Participate in regional (SERC and RFC) Compliance Audits and NERC Readiness Evaluations at Ameren including filing of the pre and post audit reports and coordinate any appropriate appeal of adverse findings. - Document and periodically review auditable internal process, solicit input from existing internal audit processes used in other areas of the company, and facilitate mock audits. - Monitor proposed revisions to or development of new standards and FERC NOPR, disseminate information to appropriate groups, coordinate discussions to develop and promote Ameren's position, and submit timely responses. - Participate in Ameren CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Standard Compliance Program team's activities. - Participate and encourage participation on the SERC and NERC audit teams as well as on the Standards Development and Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement committees. - Evaluate and administer Web compliance software used for tracking compliance activities and maintaining documents.
Job Requirements: POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required, preferably with an emphasis in power.
Experience: Utility or related industry experience preferred. Experience working on regional or NERC technical committees also preferred. Experience conducting or participating in audits a plus.
Other: Good analytical, decision-making, communication, and human relations' skills required. Must have ability to work in teams or independently on major projects.
