Job Description:
Summary:
This position will assist in the design and development of new products and in the sustaining of existing electromechanical cooking control products in the Appliance Business Segment. The position requires a detail orientated person that will coordinate and support design activity, product validation testing, product launch, and customer presentations.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
-Design of Gas control components and system design, thermostats, valves, safety products, gas ignition, gas combustion,
-Perform CFD Analysis, FMEA, and design of experiments, support product validation / verification testing, test fixture design.
-Design of Electromechanical components for cooking products.
-Support Product Engineers for design of new products and modifications to existing products; in the area of sheet metal, die cast designs, plastic injection molding, and creative application of new technologies.
-Participate cross-functionally with sales and marketing to identify new product development opportunities and support development of a product road map.
-Participate in Lean Manufacturing continuous improvements at the manufacturing locations.
-Will travel 10% of the time providing technical guidance to customers seeking new product development opportunities.
-Interface ignition systems to cooking equipment.
Education / Experience:
• BSME / MSME or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years industry experience.
• Five years design experience in Pro Engineer, preferably Wild-fire.
• Prefer 10+ years, so he has lots of experience to draw from.
• Product launches, big key!
• Background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with North American, European and Australian Standards for appliances a plus.
• Design experiences in AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.
