Job Description:
The primary purpose of the Fire Protection Engineering Manager is to develop and maintain a sustainable comprehensive fire protection program aligned with Department of Homeland Security. Specific Duties: Serves as and is recognized as a FEMA-wide expert on Fire Protection Programs. Serves as multi-faceted professional in the development of the FEMA-wide policy on diverse issues including but not limited to, fire protection for essential electronic equipment, mission critical centers, operations and maintenance of fire protection equipment and systems, fire investigation and reporting, means of emergency egress from buildings, and fire resistance and structural requirements for real property owned or leased by FEMA and disaster related facilities. Manages fire protection specialists, engineers, and/or contractors to achieve the FEMA-wide fire protection policy. Develops database consisting of fire protection passive and active infrastructure systems for each FEMA owned property or facility.
