Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop inverter/motor drive hardware from the design specification stage all the way through to production.
• Interact and coordinate with outside vendors to supply low cost, high value component hardware.
• Work interactively with design team to establish, review, and revise specifications, investigate problems, resolve issues.
• Develop detailed hardware test plans and procedures, conduct testing, troubleshoot system problems (bench and test cells) and work with technicians for validation of end product.
• Oversee PCB layout design to deliver high quality prototype and production boards on time.
• Use and promote DFSS tools in the development process
• Support the hardware leader, technical product leader and program manager in the area of cross functional and cross-BU relationships in order to develop and launch new products.
• Report on progress and issues.
• Support project planning, schedule, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure effective communication.
• Adhere to development processes: PPT, VPI, ESW and DVP&R
• Release the products and systems.
• Participate in certification and regulatory compliance activities


Job Requirements:
Skills – Functional / Technical:
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in the area of switch mode power electronics.
- Broad electronics development knowledge with at least 6 years experience (4 years with Master's degree) in a relevant area required. Relevant areas include power electronics, electric drives, electrical machines, vehicle power trains.
- Strong modeling and power electronics analysis skills required.
- Knowledge of high voltage and high current hardware systems design required. Experience at 40kW and above is a plus.
- Hardware debugging skills.
- Experience with designing and testing for electromagnetic compatibility.
- Strong technical documentation and oral presentation skills required
- Previous experience in new product introduction a plus.
- Prior experience with hybrid systems and components including engine control, inverter control, electrical machine control, energy storage/management a plus.

- VPI (Value Package Introduction) and PPT (Product Preceding Technology) experience (VPI & PPT = New Product Development Experience), Six Sigma / DFSS experience
