Job Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Consulting Business Planner monitors market transactions, emerging industry trends/issues and competitor behavior, develops summary assessments of their implications, and draws actionable conclusions for senior management consideration. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform specialized research and competitive analysis of critical strategic issues.
- Conduct strategic planning studies, including economic analysis of potential M&A and JV opportunities, and competitive analysis of market and regulatory trends and forces.
- Assist in facilitating the strategic planning process, as well as the integration with performance management and risk management.
Job Requirements:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, Finance or Economics required. MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
Experience
Three or more years relevant experience required, preferably in the areas of strategic planning, competitive analysis and/or financial analysis. Experience with performance management and risk management preferred. Experience in the energy sector, including competitive and regulated markets, as well as emerging industry issues also preferred. Experience with contracts preferred.
Other
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences. Must be self-motivated with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and strong analytical and problem solving skills; and be highly detail oriented and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, either independently or with teams. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of applications required. Occasional travel may be required.
