Job Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Strategic Initiatives Analyst identifies, conducts and evaluates impacts to Ameren and Ameren business lines of various regulatory, legislative and other strategic proposals and actions. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and conduct modeling to reflect actual or proposed actions associated with regulation, legislation, and corporate strategies including analysis of scenarios to assist with policy development.
- Coordinate activities with other departments and external contractors to ensure modeling activities provide appropriate information and analysis to impacted functions within the organization.
- Identify, evaluate and report on the impact that various regulations, legislative actions, and other strategic activities may have on the various business lines related to energy efficiency, smart grids and other non-generation load reduction opportunities.
- Analyze and perform sensitivity and scenario analysis on environmental compliance strategies and other strategic activities.
- Perform asset valuation studies with emphasis on consideration of environmental impacts. Assist in the development of presentations which describe the impact of various regulations, legislative actions, and other strategic activities.
- Perform analysis on existing generation of various regulatory, legislative and strategic actions and proposals.
- Assist in the develop environmental compliance strategies for each generation business line.
- Develop presentations for senior management describing the impact of various proposed regulations, legislation or other strategic opportunities.
- Work with outside consultants on determining the impact of proposed regulations, legislation, or other opportunities.
- Develop, analyze, and report on regulatory, legislative and strategic policies.
- Coordinate Strategic Initiatives activities with other departments.
- Represent Ameren in external forums as necessary.
Job Requirements:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance or other Technical Fields required. Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other Technical Fields preferred.
Experience
Relevant experience in engineering, economics, finance or other technical field preferred.
Other
Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications required. Good analytic and problem solving skills also required.
Knowledge of environmental regulations impacts preferred. Basic understanding of generation business required.
