Job Description:
Prepare design drawings and draft specifications for sewer, stormwater, street and sidewalk construction projects.· Manage and administer public works construction contracts including schedule, budget and quality control.· Manage consulting engineering firms performing design of public works contracts and construction period services.· Review, permit and oversee construction of public infrastructure performed by private entities on behalf of the City.· Coordinate the design and construction of public works projects with residents, property owners, business owners, other city departments, state and federal agencies and other stakeholders.· Prioritize requests for improvements to public infrastructure and make recommendations for future design and construction projects.· Review building permit applications to insure that proposed work is compliant with DPW standard specifications and stormwater management goals.· Assist in emergency situations as required including, but not limited to significant inclement weather events and participate in a 24-hour a day on call rotation.
