Job Description:
 A networking appliances company seeks a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of industry experience. The candidate will join the core development group, developing C and C++ infrastructure and application components for the cutting-edge products. Design and architect major components of products. Research, investigate and define new areas of technology to enhance existing products. Evaluate the performance of products. Tune and re-evaluate the design and implementation of current source code. Document software designs through use of functional specifications and other design documents. May conduct internal and external presentations. Communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers. Computer Science or related degree is required. Experience and interest in performance measurement, analysis, and tuning as a discipline is needed. Expert knowledge and extensive experience with C++ and C is required. Expert knowledge and extensive experience designing object oriented systems is needed. Expert knowledge and extensive experience with network and web technologies (ip, tcp, http, ssl) are needed. Extensive UNIX development experience (IPC, networking, kernel development) is required. Affinity for unit testing, test-driven development, using and enhancing automated regression test frameworks required. Ability and desire to create tools and automate tasks using the most suitable language for the problem (Perl, Python, bash) is required. Experience using source control tools (Perforce, ClearCase, Subversion, CVS) is needed. Understanding of SCM best practices and techniques is required. Experience using advanced development tools, debuggers, profilers (Purify, Quantify, VTune, Valgrind) is essential.
