Job Description:
In continuation of building out the Engineering organization to successfully support our growth and demand, ConAgra Foods seeks a skilled Packaging Equipment/Project Engineer capable of fulfilling this highly visible role. You will be recognized as a Packaging Equipment expert with opportunity to support projects in our manufacturing plants in the Grocery, Refrigerated, Snacks and Frozen Foods platforms.
Deliver commercially available technical solutions and provide both operational and engineering focused recommendations based on knowledge, experience, and best industry practice. Be and be recognized as one of the company’s technical experts regarding Packaging system equipment and design. Develop scope identification documents, supporting concept development, detailed budget estimates and risk and alternative assessments using standardized templates (FEL documents in total) in advance of deployment by Platform project execution teams. Responsibility for performance capability of recommended Packaging systems and the technical accuracy and thoroughness of prepared FEL’s. Support the innovation process with timely and accurate technical risk assessments and the development of alternative solutions when requested.
Job Requirements:
• Packaging/Project Engineering experience with Emphasis on Packaging Equipment is Required.
• A BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology all with a Packaging EQUIPMENT Emphasis is required
• 6 - 15 years of practical experience in food manufacturing and food packaging or consumer products packaging system design.
• This position requires traveling to, and working in, both ConAgra manufacturing facilities and vendor assembly and testing facilities
• This position requires a broad understanding of the Food Industry and the packaging equipment, packaging systems and controls, and related manufacturing applications used within this industry. Canning/Retort and Aseptic packaging experience is a plus.
• Excellent leadership qualities, verbal and written communication skills, and technical analysis and problem solving skills are required.
