DIRECTOR OF MAJOR GIFTS / UC DAVIS ARBORETUM, DAVIS The Director of Major Gifts will coordinate the planning and execution of major gift fund raising programs and related activities for the UC Davis Arboretum and GATEways (Gardens, Art, and the Environment) Initiative. The UC Davis Arboretum is the premier botanical garden for interior California and, as the centerpiece of the GATEways Initiative, serves both as a physical and programmatic portal to UC Davis. The Director will: Strategically create and implement plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects for individual, corporate and foundation gifts, including planned gifts, current use gifts, and endowments.Advise leaders of Arboretum and GATEways programs and projects in their efforts to initiate and manage fund raising programs to support their work and are consistent with comprehensive campaign, college, and campus goals. Coordinate appropriate donor stewardship activities. Manage a large number of major gift projects simultaneously. Qualifications: A minimum of five years of experience and demonstrated success in major gift development is preferred. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of development and fundraising techniques, including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and donor stewardship.
