The essential functions of the role are: Application of highly developed communications and collaboration skills to work across the company to further develop and achieve the tactical and strategic goals indicated by the open archive and DP business plan. Partner with the Storage Product Management team to thoroughly understand the product portfolio, the competition's strengths and weaknesses, and create compelling and differentiated customer and partner value propositions. Build deep bench strength across the group in demographic and psychographic understanding of our target markets Engage others to formulate and drive the channels to market, sales engagements, and sales lead generation for open archive and DP opportunities must maintain a business dashboard and report out weekly business metrics Engage Developers, ISVs, market influencers, customers, on new ways to design, develop, architect and deploy open archive and DP infrastructures Working closely with the software and solutions teams, cause to be developed targeted and market leading offers that customers can easily integrate into their storage infrastructures With passion and conviction brief customers, press and industry analysts on Sun's strategy, business benefits and value propositions for open archives. Seek out speaking opportunities at businessforums and CxO level events for Sun's target markets to illuminate the business values of open archives. work with the sales channels to win highly visible and valuable open archive and DP deployments to showcase compelling evidence for others to follow. building and developing an leading a first class business development team
