Job Description:
To oversee major mechanical systems throughout the hotel, ensuring that all systems are fully operationalLead employees within the maintenance department, in the ongoing maintenance of the hotel's physical plant.Ensure comprehensive preventative maintenance program is effectively implemented and maintained.Ensure that an effective team is developed that works together as a unit, ensuring all aspects of an assigned task are completed in a timely manner and to the highest quality standards.Effectively resolve guest concerns, ensuring the guests' needs are exceeded.Ensure that the physical plant is maintained to the highest standards and in a safe manner by utilizing the services of highly qualified and quality oriented suppliers.Identify and prioritize organizational objectives, ensuring that the engineering and maintenance process is continuously improved through the use of ongoing evaluation and problem solving teams..Develop preventative maintenance practices which ensure the longevity of all equipment, including the monitoring and tendering of all service contracts.Hands on and Lead by example approach with day to day engineering duties and/or projects as required.Maintain safe work practices and the use of environmentally sound practices.Work towards continuous improvement and quality in all areas REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years experience in a progressively senior role of responsibility within a Maintenance, preferably within a Hotel environment.Post-secondary education in a related field a definite asset. Strong knowledge of all engineering aspects of a full-service Hotel (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, TV/radio, pool treatment, painting/wallpaper and HVAC systems)Experience in preventative maintenance, energy management, fire safety, and health and safetyMust have excellent interpersonal and communications skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent problem solving abilities.Recognized team player and a self-starter with strong organizational skillsAbility to work within and promote an innovative and multi-tasked environmentProfessional, well organized, with excellent attention to detailAbility to train, coach and develop associates in an entrepreneurial and progressive environmentComputer knowledge required.Awareness of environmentally sound practices, and commitment to this area MUST THE APPLICANTS SUPPLY THEIR OWN WORK PERMIT?: Yes BONUS?: Yes ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED?: No REPLY ONLINE:
