Job Description:
Under the direction of the Chief, Office of Roadside Maintenance, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, responsible for policy development, research and program development of the Caltrans National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit, Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) and related plans, permits and requirements for the Maintenance program. Assists in a specialist capacity, in coordinating, developing, implementing, and managing maintenance program storm water activities and training, best management practices (BMP\'s), Maintenance Activity Pollution Prevention Plan (MAPPP\'s), statewide drain cleaning and inspection program, examination and investigation of illicit connections/illegal discharges (IC/ID) and other storm water inspections, compliance reviews and self-audits.
