Job Description:
This position will ensure that the use of lasers within B.E. Meyers complies with the appropriate standards of safety and good practice

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain company Laser Procedure for Manufacturing & Indoor/Outdoor demonstration

Provide annual Laser Safety Training and continual education for all BEM staff

Provide Laser Safety Training as needed for new B.E. Meyers employees

Support facility's laser safety requirements

Maintain up to date laser safety information for all company laser products

Network with other companies Laser Safety Officers

Perform laser hazard analysis calculations

Support FDA and Mil exemption requirements (Annual Reports, Product Reports, Variance Reports, Supplemental Reports, etc)

Support foreign laser safety requirements (IEC, etc)

Monitor and maintain calibration of laser test & measurement equipment

Provide safety data on products in support of engineering and sales

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:

Four year degree from an accredited institution or a two year AS degree

Experience in laser safety as outlined by ANSIZ136.1 Safe Use of lasers standard
