Job Description:
The successful candidate will participate in a busy and actively expanding diagnostic laboratory service which includes a medium-size, full service Cytogenetics facility offering prenatal testing, routine constitutional blood and tissue studies, bone marrow and solid tumor cytogenetics, and FISH, as well as a Molecular Pathology facility which offers testing for genetic, pharmacogenetic disorders and infectious disease testing including cystic fibrosis screening, warfarin metabolism, and several infectious disease tests. Duties will include preparing and reviewing cytogenetic and molecular case reports, test protocol development/refining, troubleshooting technical problems as needed, and staff training.Cedars-Sinai Medical Center offers a collegial and professionally stimulating environment with a strong clinical service, education and research mission. The Genetics laboratory program serves as a training site for both Molecular Genetic Pathology and Cytogenetics fellows, as well as pathology and genetics residents and hematopathology fellows. The successful candidate must be American Board of Medical Genetics certified, or eligible, in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics with experience in molecular cytogenetics and designing molecular testing. The candidate must have excellent administrative skills, an interest in participating in strong teaching programs as well as an interest in participating in clinical or translational research. Academic rank and track will be based on the candidate´s training, experience and career goals.
