Job Description:
We are seeking physician-scholar candidates to direct the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Yale New Haven Hospital. The candidate should be an MD or MD/PhD who is Board certified (or eligible) in Clinical Pathology, Medical Microbiology or in Medicine/Pediatric Infectious Diseases, in the latter case with experience in clinical laboratory microbiology. The clinical laboratory serves the Yale New Haven Medical Center, including the Smilow Cancer Hospital and the Children's Hospital, and is also very active in outreach. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an independent program of translational, clinical, or basic research. The specific area of investigation is not limited to any single area. Areas of departmental and institutional strength include microbial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, virology, and immunology. Appointment to the full time faculty will be at a rank commensurate with past experience.
