Job Description:
We are looking for the best to lead the best. Strategic leadership with other Early Development North America and Europe counterparts in driving the Biotechnology business to develop and grow in North America. Providing scientific and operational leadership in the areas of company that include biopotency, stability, protein chemistry, viral and bacterial clearance, cell bank and virus bank characterization, genetic stability, and biodistribution. Leading the design, outfitting, and qualification of a new biotechnology services facility. Collaborating with colleagues in sales, marketing, and our European Biotechnology Services business unit to develop and implement the strategy for growth in the North American market. Responsible for managing the activities of a company operation. Responsible for the formulation, development and implementation of operational plans, policies and procedures within company guidelines for this business. Provide input into overall Business Strategy for Company business. Develop and execute a strategic plan which identifies the areas in which the department will concentrate its scientific efforts, capital, and staff to meet growth objectives. Responsible for the financial performance of the operation, including revenue generation and expense management. Education/Qualifications The position requires a PhD in a biopharmaceutical-related scientific discipline or business/operational management, plus at least 8 years of related industry experience, including at least 5 years experience in an operational leadership role.Preferred qualifications: a graduate degree in a protein chemistry, molecular biology, virology, or related discipline, as well as at least 5 years of leadership experience in the biotechnology industry. Business education or experience is a definite plus. Experience Additional qualifications include experience in the development, testing, and manufacture of biopharmaceutical products, from pre-clinical phase through NDA, as well as a clear understanding of current and emerging issues affecting the development of biopharmaceutical products.
