Job Description:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Strong leader, quality decision maker, demonstrated technical aptitude in an IT discipline; understands and uses project methodologies; excellent understanding of business practices and objectives; excellent communication skills; command of project software tools such as MS Office, Project, and Visio. 7-10 years experience managing IT projects, portfolio of work meets or exceeds 80% of PMI competencies, PMP desired.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a designated program or project to ensure that goals or objectives of efforts are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Oversees and coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing programs & projects and serves as a liaison between core IT Processes and Enterprise Business Units. Assesses program & project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Follows IT Core Processes and Sub-processes. Specifically adheres to the PMO methodology. Responsible, directly and through subordinates, for leading and managing all activities and people associated with moderate to complex company projects. Typically manages a staff of project analysts and/or lower level project managers and/or coordinators. Functions include: directing project staff; working with multiple groups to identify requirements, develop project plans and strategies, prepare business cases and assign tasks; planning and estimating tasks and timelines; influencing and negotiating with staff and management; conducting meetings; ensuring project control; employing creative problem solving to generate solutions and directions; interfacing with users to define needs and issues; handling budget/forecasting, as needed; identifying, developing, and implementing policies/procedures/controls within scope of project to optimize results while ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. Will direct 5 or more full time project team members.
