ADA Field Support Consultant
Athens Group is seeking to expand our team of software consulting professionals who are currently developing ground-breaking engineering and operations solutions for our upstream Oil & Gas customers.
We currently have a position open for an ADA Field Support Consultant based in Austin, TX. Job Responsbilities:
Install and configure ADA hardware and software and ensure network connectivity Develop ADA training material and present to drillers Evangelizing ADA to drillers and other field personnel Assist drillers when they have problems, both by phone/email and in person at the rig Provide input to the development group regarding impediments to ADA adoption Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: 5 - 7 years of software development experience 3 years of professional consulting experience Broad range of experience working in different technical development environments, using different software development methodologies, and playing various roles within the development lifecycle Experience in eliciting, gathering, analyzing, documenting and managing requirements Ability to facilitate user requirements analysis and prototype review sessions Thorough understanding of the systems development life cycle, software engineering, quality assurance and project management principles Desire and ability to develop positive customer and team relationships Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, facilitation and team skills
Willingness to travel to client offices and oilfield locations as needed, estimated 50%
Preferred: Knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas engineering and/or operations Experience using an iterative development approach and agile methods to meet evolving requirements Experience with: User interface development Rules-based expert systems Risk management Control systems Database applications Object-oriented design Web development Eclipse IDE and runtime JBoss Rules
