POSITION
Embedded Software Engineer
3-6 Month Contract with a possibility for extension
$45-55 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced software engineer to develop detailed design (with documentation), implement design using the C and/or C++ languages, execute formal unit test, participate in software integration including debug of issues found and support of system verification testing. Seeking a motivated engineer, not a hacker.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant experience.
Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS
· Good communication skills (written and verbal)
· Highly motivated and not afraid of aggressive schedules
· 5+ Years Linux (Application and/or System) Design and Development Experience in C or C++. This implies:§ GNU make§ GCC, GDB§ Command Line Interface (Unix shell commands, etc.)§ System V IPC (shared memory, semaphores, pipes)§ Use of linux file I/O and drivers
· Experience in a CMMI level 2 development environment including adherence to software design, coding and documentation standards
· Experience with Subversion or CVS version control and practices
· Excellent software design practices: data encapsulation, data hiding, top-down decomposition, inter-process communications and other best practices
