Job Description: The COO of CCC/MCO Coonstruction Code Compliance/Municipal Consulting and Outsourcing)reports to the Executive Vice President Americas and will have responsibility for leading this business unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven success record managing a large P & L for a private engineering group ($50M - $200M), been a CEO, President, General Manager or Regional Manager. Candidate may come from the public sector serving in the capacity of a City Manager, Public Works Director, Community Development Director of a large progressive city. However, should the candidate originate from a public sector, the candidate’s experience must be complimented with significant and relevant private sector P&L experience. Improvement of operational processes, development and integration of cross selling solutions and providing functional guidance to operational and business development managers in the CCC-MCO Service Line will be a part of the daily responsibilities. In the business development arena, the COO will lead the Marketing and Sales function to include simultaneous efforts in development of existing clients increasing the client portfolio, and identifying new market offerings. Technically, the COO should have a credible background and knowledge of Construction Code Compliance (Building Safety) requirements. From a leadership standpoint, the COO will have experience leading a large group of employees, uniting them under a common purpose of achieving outstanding sales and operational results. The COO will identify and implement innovative ways to enhance and support the growth of the business. It is essential that the person selected for this critical role have proven technical credibility, strategic & financial acumen, leadership, motivational and interpersonal/communication skills. This role is one of a change agent where the culture of the organization will be modified to reflect both a technically competent image while internally being a sales driven organization that utilizes both technical experts and business development professionals in the sales process.
Job Requirements: • Capacity for learning the Client’s organization business model and culture along with the product portfolio • Extensive experience in operational responsibilities (P&L responsibilities) • Capacity to inspire and generate continuity and a diversified product portfolio • In depth knowledge of Municipal Markets (including local, State and special use organizations) • Evidence of success developing and growing relationships with large client-companies • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively motivate and influence others. • Proven skills for teamwork and collaboration • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills • Available for extensive travel Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a consulting background and come from a large private engineering group, a large municipality or other Construction Code Compliance outsourcing firm.
