Job Description:
The project manager is a participant in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the project manager is responsible for the identification of schedule and cost variances and the development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for negative variances. The project manager also has a responsibility to help grow the project manager resources of the firm through coaching of associate project managers and task managers. Typical work assignments in the Water Business Group include projects in wastewater treatment, water treatment, and water reclamation. Project components include project planning, studies, preliminary design, final design, and services during construction. Project study assignments include evaluation of treatment facilities, including liquid and biosolids treatment technologies that may include chemical, biological, and mechanical methods. Evaluations also include conveyance facilities, including pump stations for transfer of liquids and solids, piping, and controls systems. Study evaluations include alternatives analysis, methods for implementation, and cost analysis.
