Job Description:

Develop subcontractor contacts and work closely with them to develop preliminary budgets.* Identify scope of work and prepare quantity surveys from preliminary drawings.* Monitor drawings from schematic, through design development and working drawings to ensure project stays within budget.* Develop cost model estimates during design to assist owner in preparation of project pro-forma and comparison to design to budget.* Assists in preparing estimates for each delivery order based on technical specifications and drawings or sketches; where feasible provide possible value engineering suggestions.* Determine most economical material that conforms to project drawings and specifications.* Confirm that all necessary materials and supplies are included in the scope of work and that unnecessary items are excluded.* Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for each job order and enter line items into on-site computer containing the Unit Price Book software.* Solicit detailed proposal information from at least three vendors and/or subcontractors with all supporting documentation on equipment, material and labor costs for material or equipment not covered in an industry standard manual or for work to be performed by a subcontractor.* Evaluate proposals from vendors and/or subcontractors for compliance with scope of work.
