Job Description:
Delegates authority to staff based on corporate standards and expertise of staff. Refers claims exceeding the Director's authorization and those falling within corporate reporting requirements. Identifies staff training and development needs and assures training is provided. Addresses and ensures the correction of any deficiencies identified by audits. Monitors service by staff, identifies needed improvements, develops and implements improvement programs. Recognizes staff who provide the expected level of customer service. Interacts with customers and intermediaries on a regular basis. Responds to inquiries or complaints from other functions, State Insurance Departments, agents, customers and claimants resulting from claims. Seeks guidance and expertise from the Technical Directors and Specialists as needed. May represent the company in industry associations, committees, boards, bureaus, etc. Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. 8-10 years of related work experience. Broad background in Claims, including exposure to multiple lines of coverages and policies. Successful and increasingly responsible management and leadership experience. Good organizational, human relations and communication skills. Knowledge of applicable laws affecting claims and technical expertise. Compensation and Benefits.
