Job Description:
Position Requirements Provides staff assistance and service to Zone and Home Office personnel on technical matters of claims management. Observes the operational effect produced by existing claims procedures and techniques by periodic visits to the Field Claims Offices, and recommends revised procedures to improve efficiency and service. Initiate, implement, and facilitate zone wide claim handling guidelines/best practices. Investigates and recommends courses of action required to correct unfavorable trends of performance. Evaluates Zone operations performance during periodic visits by examinations of open and closed claims files, reinspections, and statistical data. Initiate, implement, and facilitate business review process--monitor file quality, action planning, supervisor/team quality reviews, performance mgmt, training, staffing, budgeting, inventory/cycle time, and customer service. Advises Home Office and Zone claims management on claims in excess of authority, and extends authority when appropriate. Assists in planning, developing, and evaluating claims facilities, plans and programs for handling claims. Performs other duties as assigned.
