Extensive communication with business partners and customers (Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Compliance and IT). Position will be located in either Hartford or New York City. Examples of things that would fall under this position would include: Complete Quarterly Reserve Reviews and share findings with Corporate Reserving and HFP counterparts Work closely with Underwriting to understand the books of business and suggest changes or improvements that promote profitability Handle any State Filing related activities for HFP lines of business Complete Monthly Price Monitors which determine pricing levels for HFP Interact with HFP management and Reinsurance Brokers to assist with Ceded Reinsurance matters where necessary Qualifications WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? FCAS or near-FCAS candidate with strong actuarial background required; Familiarity and experience with pricing and reserving for Commercial Liability lines preferred Proactive individual, who can challenge existing processes, can influence others and drive a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to convey results to management.
