We seek an experienced ocean marine claim professional with a proven track record of developing staff and of managing to positive claim outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a leading company in ocean marine insurance. CNA's ocean marine division, formerly MOAC, has been a leader in the ocean marine market for over 100 years. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Directs the work activities and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of subordinate staff in accordance with corporate strategic direction.2. Contributes to profitability by effective implementation of claim handling best practices to direct loss cost and claim expenses.3. Coaches, leads, and develops claims staff and directs the development of claims training programs.4. Reviews and directs the application of claims policies, guidlelines, insurance laws and regulations by subordinate staff.5. Develops and implements operating plans for enhancing the business and meeting strategic objectives.6. Participates with senior management in the development and implementation of claims policy and business strategy.7. Reports business progress to senior management.8. Keeps current on state/territory regulations and issues, industry activity and trends. May represent company in industry trade groups. May perform additional duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities 1. Ability to effectively lead, coach, and develop a claims group.
