Job Description:
Makes recommendations on claims policy and procedures and drives claims initiatives.5. Reviews and manages investigations of claims, liability and damages, and works with senior management to determine if major claims should be settled or litigated.6. Manages the negotiation of claims settlement packages including setting reserves and authorizing payment or refers claims to appropriate location for adjudication .7. Manages project teams and may be responsible for special projects and presentations.8. Assures communications with appropriate parties regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims.9. Keeps current on state/territory regulations and issues, industry activity and trends. May participate in industry trade groups. May perform additional duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship Director or above. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities 1. Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop the claims staff.2. Technical expertise, claims resolution skills and knowledge of insurance and claims principles, practices and procedures.3. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.4. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.5. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
