Our client base consists of government agencies (city, county, state and federal), oil & gas companies, large mining/utility companies, private developments, etc. Our services include re-vegetation, erosion control, large-scale landscape/irrigation, minor earthwork and some civil work. You need to have sufficient previous re-vegetation, earthwork and erosion control experiences as to comprehend specifications and industry accepted construction procedures. Computer skills must include at a minimum, Windows, MS Word, and Microsoft Excel. The Project Manager directs the work assignments on a daily basis for field operations at the superintendent/foreman level while balancing his/her own work assignments. Initial work scopes will require significant field work training and overseeing operators and laborers. As additional field staff are hired and trained to handle additional projects more office based administrative work will occur. The Project Manager is responsible for managing a minimum of three million ($3M) in projects annually. The number of projects and size vary greatly. The anticipated dollar range is from $2,000 to $1M. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Preparation and review of correspondence prepared by other staff members is essential as well. Ability to respond to employment, technical contract, and estimating issues in a spontaneous manner is absolutely critical to maintain profitability to the company. Decision making is often times under a pressure filled environment with tight deadlines. The Project Manager must have keen negotiating skills. This position is expected to deal with conflict resolution for employment and construction contract issues in a manner that does not compromise the integrity or financial welfare of the company.
