Job Description:
This includes a detailed understanding of the scope add process and how to troubleshoot issues as they occur. Examples of issues include overlapping scopes, invalid subnets, invalid tag types, and CCM errors. Proficient in reclaiming IP scopes so that DHCP server continues to successfully hand out leases. This includes having a detailed understanding of the scope reclaim process and how to troubleshoot issues as they occur. Examples of issues include scope deactivation problems, CCM errors, and scope deletion problems. Working knowledge of DHCP/DNS/TFTP/Caching name servers. Skills include locating and searching logs, understanding state of processes, stop/start processes primary and secondary server synchronization, etc. in order to ensure the servers are working flawlessly throughout the day. Working knowledge of Solaris and Linux Operating Systems. Ability to find server and interpret server statistics such as available disk space, CPU utilization, server temperature, network properties, etc. to ensure that key services are not interrupted by health issues.Ability to perform basic operating system functions such as: creating directories, zip/unzip files, tar/untar files, utilize the VI editor to create files, etc. so that files can be compressed and moved from device to device for backup, troubleshooting and space management.Working knowledge of TCP/IP/UDP protocols for troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
