Job Description:
 An accounting and consulting firm seeks a Business Analyst with 3-5 years of experience working in a Windows-based application environment, particularly with off-the-shelf solutions. The candidate will be responsible for the identification, documentation, and validation of business requirements across a variety of administrative and practice areas. Additionally, this role will provide end-user system training prior to rollout, along with post-project application support. Understand and document high-level business processes/workflow. Collaborate with the subject-matter experts to define needs. Create a quantitative business case and present the justification for the project requirements and approach. Analyze documented business processes to develop requirements for use by the project teams to identify/develop technical solutions. Assist project manager in developing work estimates, tasks and overall project approach and schedule. Create a test strategy, success criteria, and scenarios for system testing and end-user testing. Conduct system testing, documents defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues. Provide information to develop system documentation. Train users on the system features and functionality prior to system release. Serve as a second-level support for end-user issues. Participate in team meetings and in issue identification/resolution. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree in IT/business/finance or a related subject. Increasing exposure to all aspects of the product development life-cycle, with a particular emphasis in project initiation, concept definition, requirements gathering, testing, end-user training and support. Ability to work with a variety of technical skill levels to translate existing business processes into detailed business requirements for use by technical teams; this should include the ability to decompose high-level workflows and processes into specific, traceable, unambiguous requirements. Familiarity with business case development, cost-benefit analysis and other project metrics. Experience working in an environment with strong project methodologies, frameworks and application knowledge with respect to the Tax, Accounting and Assurance areas preferred. Knowledge or experience within the public accounting or professional services industries, preferred.
