Job Description:

The individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition. The incumbent performs construction inspection work of normal difficulty involving a broad range of inspection functions for a variety of construction operations, materials, and methods under varying conditions and requirements. Makes daily visits to projects of normal difficulty involving a broad range of inspection functions. Observes and inspects work methods to ensure the construction process is consistent with plans and acceptable work practices. Inspect construction materials and equipment to ensure conformance with contract specifications. Resolves differences between plans and specifications and makes final decisions on the acceptability of construction methods and practices, workmanship, materials, and finished product. Reviews and interprets construction plans and specifications. Provides effective technical assistance to ensure changes are properly incorporated into plans and specifications. Maintains continuing surveillance over contractor operations and ensures that the contractor\'s work is carried out in accordance with contract plans and specifications. Provide accurate schedules and progress reports. Compiles and maintains various data and prepares reports regarding the status of construction in comparison to established schedules.
