Job Description:


Reviews sales order requirements to determine the best sourcing strategy. Coordinates with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Ensures compliance with established policies and Quality Systems procedures. Accurately communicates requirements to suppliers emphasizing price competitiveness, quality, on-time delivery and value. Conducts and documents purchasing activities and negotiates terms to support prudent buying decisions. Acts to protect the company interests from price increases and other liabilities. Qualifies and monitors supplier base through the use of supplier surveys, supplier audits, supplier evaluations and historical reports/metrics. Monitors and investigates corrective actions as required and evaluates and develops new sources of supply when necessary. Maintains professional working relationships with suppliers utilizing a partnership approach. Interfaces with internal departments including Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Business Development, Operations/Warehouse/Logistics, Quality Assurance and Regulatory. Resolves receiving and accounting discrepancies on a daily basis. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and minimized. Desired Qualifications and Experience Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; plus five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Requirements: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts requirements, general business expertise, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages. Able to work independently and ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several complex and diverse variables in standardized situations. Requires ability to identify deviations from standard practices. Requires effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to deal with managing a variety of tasks concurrently.
