Job Description:

Responsible for purchasing ingredients and packaging in bakery and production departments. Responsible for maintaining integrity of the food safety program and product quality. PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES Create Ingredient and packaging requisitions and follow up with vendors to ensure accuracy Work with production personnel to identify product needs Perform all receiving clerk functions Monitor Ingredient and packaging inventory levels Compare actual ingredient usage to standard ingredient usage Perform weekly Recounts/Rechecks Supervise full time receiving employees Complete schedule for all employees identified above Work with production department regarding promotions/sales for adjustments of inventory needs Communicate with supply chain regarding order changes Inspect, evaluate and train sanitation personnel to ensure cleaning standards are met and prevent product contamination. Quality control; monitor sanitation and condition of ingredients, general housekeeping to storage racks Daily entering and imputing data into SAP Matching lot/seal numbers to bill of lading to ensure accuracy Requirements Education and/or on-the-job experience needed High school diploma or equivalent education required Minimum three years supervisory experience in a food-manufacturing/purchasing/receiving required Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities needed Understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment Understands the functionality of ingredients in the baking process Specialty / Job-Related knowledge, skills & abilities needed Understands the unique equipment in a bakery production plant, along with operation of that equipment relative to the baking process.
